L’AQUILA – Renovated headquarters and new services for customers, thanks to the Polis Project. The Cagnano Amiterno post office reopened to the public today, Friday 28 June, ahead of schedule after the renovation works.
The interventions include the new configuration of the counter, with lowered heights to facilitate all customer segments and ergonomic workstations to promote correct postures, and the installation of a raised path on the floor to allow people with visual impairments full autonomy in moving around the public room without the aid of assistance.
Great attention is also paid to security. The Cagnano Amiterno post office is equipped with a closed circuit video surveillance system connected to the Security Room in Rome, which operates 24 hours a day in control and surveillance of company sites, allowing for monitoring possible intrusions into the premises and, if necessary, intervening by activating the alarm systems and requesting the police to intervene immediately; furthermore, the “roller cash” anti-robbery system manages a timed-opening safe for each station, allowing cash to be secured at the end of each counter operation.
The initiative is part of the “Polis – Casa dei Servizi Digitali” project, conceived by Poste Italiane to promote economic, social and territorial cohesion in the 7 thousand municipalities with less than 15 thousand inhabitants, contributing to their relaunch. In the entire province of L’Aquila, to date, 40 post offices are involved, of which 38 are already operational, while in Rivisondoli and Pescasseroli renovation works are underway.
The Polis project enhances post offices not only from an infrastructural point of view, but also in relation to the offer of new services. In particular, as in 104 post offices in the province of L’Aquila, also in Cagnano Amiterno it is already possible to request the first three INPS certificates directly at the counter: the pension slip, the single certification and the “OBIS M” form, which summarizes the information data relating to the pension allowance.
The Cagnano Amiterno post office is available to citizens during the usual hours: Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8.20 to 13.45.
