Coldiretti Cuneo: “Model Cuneo company at the Oscar Green ceremony”

This morning at the Coldiretti Village, scheduled in Venice from today to Sunday 30 June, the Coldiretti Giovani Oscar Green awards ceremony was held, in the presence of the Coldiretti National President Ettore Prandini and the Coldiretti Youth National Delegate Enrico Parisi.

Among the finalists of the Oscar Green, a competition that rewards the ideas and virtuous strategies that young people have implemented in their companies, there was also Giacomo Monge of Villafalletto, winner of the Oscar Green Piemonte in the “Digital Enterprise” category for having been able to combine technological innovation with environmental sustainability in full respect of the territory.

Giacomo, thanks to internships in apple and peach producing companies in South Africa and experiences in America and California, has learned new and modern systems that can be replicated in his agricultural reality. The use of low volume sprayers saves water, reduces waste and dramatically reduces processing time in orchards. With new generation structures and modern rabbit breeding systems, such as the dual band system with “wellness boxes” – the first in Piedmont to use them – the company has automated many processes, improving the control and prevention of diseases in animals.

In addition, the roofs of the stables are covered with photovoltaic panels, providing clean energy for the company and the breeding. These technological and sustainable advances – explains Coldiretti Cuneo – position the Monge farm as an example of excellence in respecting the environment and improving production efficiency.

“Having Giacomo among the national Oscar Green finalists is a beautiful showcase for the young entrepreneurs of our Province. This increasingly demonstrates how agriculture is a concrete future trajectory for young people, an employment opportunity that can guarantee satisfaction to the new generations. The companies awarded at the Oscar Green are representative of an increasingly sustainable innovation model in agriculture that has its roots in the land and in the community, knows how to grasp the demands of the market and anticipate new needs” highlights Marco Bernardi, Cuneo Youth Business Delegate.

“To support the entrepreneurial dream of the many young Italians who choose to build a future in the countryside – underlines the President of Coldiretti Cuneo, Enrico Nada – we must increase investments in agriculture, guaranteeing the necessary measures to encourage generational change in our sector, but also creating the conditions so that every young person is free from the many constraints that put their activity at risk, from bureaucracy to unfair competition from foreign products that do not respect our own rules. Only in this way will we be able to build a Europe that is less fragile and less dependent on imports”.
