CIVITAVECCHIA – The beaches of Civitavecchia have received several excellent ratings in terms of bathing suitability. This is what emerges from the data relating to the quality of bathing waters in 2024 published by the Lazio Region.

As explained by the Environmental Observatory «from a comparison with the 2023 data, good news emerges for the coastal municipalities: Santa Marinella receives two new “excellent” ratings in addition to the five from 2023. The excellent data for all points of survey of Civitavecchia. In Tarquinia the situation remains unchanged with seven excellent beaches out of 8 monitored. The area of the mouth of the Marta River is definitively closed to bathing.”

THE “EXCELLENT” BEACHES

The waters are excellent from Torre S. Agostino to La Frasca, Bagni Pirgo establishment, 250 meters to the left of Fosso Infernaccio, from 250 meters to the right of Fosso Scarpatosta to 250 meters to the left of Fosso Malpasso and Fosso Marangone beach.

NON-SWIMMING AREAS

Confirmed instead the non-swimming from 1400 mt sx Torre Valdaliga to Porto di Civitavecchia, Foci Fossi Infernaccio and Scarpatosta and Porto di Traiano. Good news for the many Civitavecchia residents who in recent years are repopulating the city beaches also in light of the annual reports of Arpa Lazio that certify “crystal clear” waters for the Civitavecchia beaches and this goes hand in hand with the works started to improve the frequentation of the city coastline.

Of course, there is still work to be done for a real relaunch of the beaches and, above all, of the waters of the Civitavecchia coast but the path taken seems to be the right one and the many initiatives of citizens and associations that help to keep the coast clean also certainly help if the real “help” comes from constant monitoring that can guarantee Civitavecchia residents and others clean and always “excellent” water like that monitored by Arpa for this season.
