The seventh art is once again the protagonist of the Turin summer at Parco del Valentino.

ImbarKino – Cinema in the Meadow returns for its sixth edition with six unmissable events every Sunday at 9pm, from July 7th to August 11thin front of the Imbarchino venue. Six auteur films (three Italian and three international) selected by Davide Oberto, historic curator of the “Documentaries” and “Italiana.corti” sections at the Torino Film Festival.

ImbarKino – a fusion of “Imbarchino” and “Kino”, which in German means cinema – is an initiative with free admission and no reservation required, promoted by Imbarchino and Banda Larga APS, one of the three concessionary associations of the space, which deals with the programming of Imbarchino, with the support of the City of Turin, District 8, Foundation for Culture Turin, Foundation Compagnia di San Paolo and Va Lentino SRL Società Benefit.

As in previous editions, the lawn overlooking the banks of the Po is transformed into an open-air cinema “hall” that in recent years, from 2019 to today, has hosted more than seven thousand spectators. The Imbarchino thus confirms itself as a cultural point of reference for the Valentino audience: a space where music, art and

cinema intertwine to create an experience that can maximize the park, through a cultural proposal that seeks and proposes content with a particular and sophisticated slant.

On Sunday 7th July we start with About Last Year (2023), an Italian film by directors Dunja Lavecchia, Beatrice Surano and Morena Terranova, and then continue with Gasoline Rainbow (2023), directed by Bill and Turner Ross, presented in Orizzonti at the Venice Film Festival. The film will be screened in collaboration with Mubi Italia. The third

the film scheduled is Smoke Sauna (2023) by Anna Hints, Winner of the European Film Awards for best documentary. The fourth appointment will be the turn of Ouroboros (2015), a Palestinian film, the first work by Basma al-Sharif. Italian cinema returns to be the protagonist of the last two appointments with Cocoricò Tapes (2023) by Francesco Tavella, which will be screened in collaboration with the Seeyousound festival, and Comizi d’amore (1963) by Pier Paolo Pasolini.

All films will be screened in their original language with Italian subtitles, except for Italian films, which will be subtitled in English where possible. The screenings for the public are at 9:00 p.m., every Sunday evening from July 7th to August 11th, with two extra dates scheduled for rain on August 18th and 25th. Screenings will start around 9:30 p.m. (depending on the level of darkness at that time).
