(REGFLASH) Rome, 27 June. – “The Abruzzo Region has reiterated its full support for the organizers of the international D’Angiò award, whose authority was certified in 2018 by the participation of President Mattarella and the President of the Senate Casellati in the 750th anniversary of the Battle of the Palentine Plans. The winners of this renewed edition, prominent figures who honor our Abruzzo, confirm the great cultural value of this initiative, which represents for our region an extraordinary opportunity to recall a historical event of enormous importance in the history of Europe but also a precious driving force for the tourist growth of our territory”.
This is what he stated Mario QuaglieriCouncilor for Internal Areas and Budget of the Abruzzo Region, on the sidelines of the presentation of the XVIII edition of the international Charles I of Anjou award which took place this morning in the “Giovanni Spadolini” Parliamentary Proceedings Room of the Senate.
The senator will do the honors Guido Quintino Lirisinitiator of the press conference in the Senate, and the senator Etelwardo Sigismondi.
During the conference, moderated by the journalist Katia Scolta, there were also speakers Alessandra Priantepresident of Enit, Nicola De Simonemayor of Scurcola Marsicana, Lorenzo Falloccopresident of the ‘Carlo D’Angiò’ study centre, Pierluigi Panunzivice president of the Carispaq foundation of L’Aquila and the honorable Guerino Testa.
And it is precisely around the re-enactment of the famous battle for the dominion of Southern Italy, which in 1268 saw the Angevins of Charles I of Anjou and the Swabians of King Frederick II clash in the Palentine Plans of Scurcola Marsicana, that this prestigious award grew year after year, establishing itself as one of the most important regional events on a cultural and tourist level.
The long-awaited appointment with the award is scheduled for 4 and 5 July in the splendid Risorgimento square in Scurcola Marsicana and will see the participation of not only the award winners, personalities who have distinguished themselves in different fields, but also the presence of institutional, political and religious who have contributed to the growth and development of the local and national territory.
