An unforgettable journey between music and archeology at the Herculaneum Park

The dawn show – Inventions for three voices is the unmissable event on 29 June at the Archaeological Park of Herculaneum, with performances scheduled for 20 July and 31 August. This original CoopCulture production will bring some of Italy’s historical, artistic and archaeological wonders to life until August. Herculaneum thus becomes the first Archaeological Park to transform itself into the setting for a journey between archeology and sound, an experience that will take place at first light in the morning, offering a completely new point of view.

A sound journey at dawn

Music will become the underlying theme of an unforgettable experience, expressed in a narrative that crosses eras and cultures, telling stories of greatness and drama. The musical program embraces a vast repertoire, from the music of Roberto De Simone, Benjamin Britten, WA Mozart, Gabriel Fauré, Jansug Kakhidze and songs from the popular traditions of Campania, Sardinia and Portuguese. The performances will be interpreted by the voice of Marina Bruno, Enzo Pietropaoli on double bass and Daniele Sepe on saxophone.

Only event in Campania

“We are the only archaeological site to offer this possibility in Campania and among the very few in all of Italy. We love Herculaneum and this place is loved at all hours,” declares the director of the Archaeological Park Francesco Sirano. “Imagine the emotion of witnessing the sun rise in one of the most evocative and history-rich places in the Mediterranean. Imagine walking along those same streets at dawn that two thousand years ago had already been teeming with life for a few hours. Experiencing a place like this accompanied by the music and scents of the early morning will enrich your memory with a unique memory.”

A multisensory experience

The show offers a multi-sensory experience that blends the magic of dawn with the evocative power of music, crossing centuries of history and cultures. The narration of archaeologists and art historians alternates with musical notes and voices that will accompany the visitor on a sound journey across the Mediterranean, exploring distant places and eras. The music, carefully selected for each performance, awakens attention to art and archaeology, enhancing every detail of the natural scenography. Set the alarm and treat yourself to an extraordinary experience with “The Dawn Show” which combines art, history and music.

Interested press will be able to participate in the event on June 29th during the 5.30am shift, and a sign of participation is appreciated by emailing ercolano. [email protected].
