The municipal administration of Guidonia Montecelio, as part of the “Agriculture and correct nutrition day” project, launched the initiative, which involved all the comprehensive schools in the area, called “The educational garden inside the school” , financed by LAZIOcrea.
The local institutes participated enthusiastically in the project, so much so that the delivery of the “educational garden” kits to the schools was a real success.
Each of them received, free of charge, the necessary material for the creation of a school garden, the selected classes worked to plant seedlings, vegetables and aromatic plants of various types, inside special wooden containers.
The children were involved in the different phases of creating the garden, from sowing, to planting, to observing the growth of the various plants.
The use of the empirical-experimental method allowed them to develop curiosity and a sense of responsibility for what they planted.
The project also responds to the need to carry out more and more moments outdoors, with interactive and educational activities for children, with the opportunity to explore and interact with nature itself.
The appreciable success of the initiative has convinced the school directors and the Administration to continue with activities that bring boys and girls closer to nature, environmental education and proper nutrition.
