In the north, the bubble has burst. Vannacci won’t be enough Matteo Salvini to avoid the wave of Northern League supporters “from the territories” who really don’t like that Isernia – fiefdom of the newly elected Patriciello – is the only province of Italy in which Salvini got more votes than the others. Paolo Grimoldimember number 3 of Lombardy, founder of the Movimento Giovani Padani – the youth organization of the North league -, deputy from 2006 to 2022, discovered that his purge from the party had been decided in Rome.
Then, kicked out of the house he helped build. Why?
At the moment I understand that a request for a measure is pending against me; evidently the Northern League members who have weight, consensus and who could run for top roles within the party, are annoying.
But does Salvini represent the League today or not?
From the electoral data at a local level there is someone who represents it more while at a national level today it is certainly represented by General Vannacci.
In some of his texts he doesn’t write Lega but “Salvini Premier” (with a lowercase letter).
That League no longer exists, a couple of months ago some managers wrote a letter to ask political questions, it would have been useful to listen to them.

The congress in Lombardy has not been held for 9 years and an attempt is being made to eliminate the historic Northern League members. Only in this way can Salvini make a living.
So what’s the mood in the north among the first-time Northern League members?
The question of the political project and obviously the name of the party and the secretary must be raised.
In one of his statements he said that without Vannacci and Patriciello the League would have taken 6% at a national level.
There is the overtaking of Forza Italia, it grows in percentage by 0.1% compared to the 2022 elections – perhaps because there are still 100 sections missing which could make us end up with exactly the same percentage votes as the elections – but it gets less even than the last ones European elections with Secretary still Umberto Bossi. Then Vannacci won against the entire League leadership: he took 1/4 of the votes on the list. It must be recognized, congratulations to the general.
The Isernia issue?
The “Salvini Premier” has become the fifth national party and the last in the center-right despite the merger with Cesa’s UDC, despite the “pro Ursula” votes of the honorable Patriciello – Isernia is the first province in Italy with 26% of votes for the “Salvini Premier” -, despite the far-right votes of Vannacci and the abstention of voters from the South.
But isn’t the recent achievement of the law on differentiated autonomy a success?
Apparently yes but I remind myself that in 2010 the law on fiscal federalism was passed which to date has not yet been implemented.
