Friday 28 June 2024 at 9.00 pm in Cremona, the stage of Federico II Courtyard will see theMiyaji Ensemble – Tokyo coming from Japan, with the participation as director and violin soloist of Kyoko Yamamoto.

The repertoire includes music by Mozart, Vivaldi, Verdi, Mascagni and music from the Japanese popular tradition

The event is free and free to enter while places last.

The concert is included in Cremona Summer Festival, organized by the Cremona Chamber of Commerce, as part of the Masterclass project, with the collaboration of the Municipalities of Cremona and Crema. The Chamber of Commerce has promoted the project with conviction since 2009, with the awareness that music represents a resource for Cremona and its territory to be enhanced also from a tourism point of view. The Cremona area has established itself as “A place to play” for musical organizations from all over the world. After the pause in 2020 and the slow restart in 2021 and 2022, in 2024 the number of expected participants amounts to approximately 2,000 students, musicians, teachers and parents.

The Cremona Summer Festival has the support and collaboration of the International School of Violin Making, the Violin Museum Foundation, the Touring Club, the Strada del Gusto Cremonese delle Botteghe del Centro, the Urban District of Commerce, Confartigianato, the Cremonese Filodrammatica Association , of the Consorzio Liutai “Antonio Stradivari” Cremona, of the Cremona International Music Academy, of the Casalmaggiore International Music Festival, of the Festival of Youth Orchestras of Florence, and of BeMyMusic Cremona

MIYAJI ENSEMBLE – TOKYO

The chamber music ensemble for this concert is made up of a group of string enthusiasts, mainly string students at the Miyaji School of Music. Previously, they held similar concerts in Cremona at the Palazzo Cattaneo in 2015 and at the Church of Santa Maria Maddalena in 2018, with good public response. This will be the third time that the ensemble performs in Cremona.

The ensemble members have different professions and have been practicing for today’s concert in their free time. Although they are all amateur musicians, they have a strong love for string instruments and the performance of Cortile Federico II is a testimony to this love.

KYOKO YAMAMOTO

A graduate of Toho Girls’ High School, music department, specializing in strings, after graduating from the Toho Gakuen School of Music, she became a violinist with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. After leaving the orchestra, she became a musician and teacher, known for her meticulous teaching of beginners and intermediate players.
