Interviewed on the “Tribuna di Treviso” and “Il Gazzettino – Treviso”, Andrea Mezzanotte took stock of the situation regarding his summer preparation: “After the match against Tortona I took a break for a week, also enjoying the celebrations for my Atalanta’s victory in the Europa League. But then I got back to work and started talking to the club. They told me that they wanted to start again from a well-established group that I was part of and I was very pleased. Did I expect more from this season? Absolutely: I’m sure I can give more. From January onwards I also had a physical problem that limited me: now I’m working to completely fix this aspect too. I aim to do much better, to help the team and demonstrate that we can stay in Serie A.”
Midnight also commented on the arrival of Valerio Mazzola: “With his arrival will he be called upon to make the 5? For the good of the team we do this and more, but I admit that it wasn’t easy: I had never done it in the past and, due to my characteristics, I think I express myself better as a pure 4, able to open up on the perimeter. Valerio played very well as a 5 also in Pesaro, after Totè’s injury. He has a lot of experience in Serie A and a high basketball IQ: I think we will integrate well and he will give us a great hand.”
Treviso can raise the bar. “I hope so. For the team that had been built, I expected more already last season. Unfortunately it didn’t happen that way. Those confirmed are all excellent players, who know the championship, so the hope is obviously to reach safety a little earlier and from there, perhaps, aim for something more. But now we wait for the roster to be completed and then we can also clarify the objectives. In general, from the first signings, it seems to me that many teams are raising the level. Sassari, for example, can do very well.”
