Around 2.20 pm an accident occurred along the Vignolese in the Spilamberto area. A woman of foreign origin was traveling along the provincial road (via Modenese) towards the capital, when she lost control and swerved to the left. This was enough to make the car fall a few meters into the ditch at the edge of the road.
Fortunately, the speed of the vehicle was not high and the woman did not suffer any particularly serious injuries. She was rescued by 118 with an ambulance and medical vehicle, she was then taken to Baggiovara Hospital with medium serious injuries, including a suspected fracture of an arm.
The Local Police of the Terre di Castelli intervened on site to carry out the investigations. There are no other vehicles involved, also because the accident occurred in the section where there is currently a one-way traffic due to Anas’ works. That stretch of the provincial road, however, proves to be quite dangerous due to the absence of any barrier that could prevent the vehicles from falling into the canal in the event that they accidentally end up – as in this case – beyond the small concrete curb that delimits the roadway.
