A “no man’s land” territory that has always been paid attention to by the police and which Alessandro Giardini, who has recovered from drug addiction and is the founder of Prevaction, now wants to show to the people of Pesaro because only through «the constant pounding of communication, images, checks and presences – he explains – its presence can be defeated. I want to make known what everyone fears.”
For this reason, it has organized a singular awareness-raising initiative for next Sunday, June 30th, taking those who want to participate to the prohibited places of the drug dealing and describing the undergrowth where the drug dealing thrives a stone’s throw from the families who spend time in the park and revealing the signs and codes to decipher. Even yesterday morning he was in the red drug zone photographing and observing: holed fences, remains of bivouacs, abandoned syringes, rubbish, fleeting meetings to sell doses. Presences and signs that have long alarmed the residents of via Cimarosa with repeated reports to the police and who yesterday morning went to the Prefecture to ask “to do something”.
An appeal not in vain because next week there will be a discussion also at the request of the mayor Andrea Biancani: «One of the first things done after my inauguration was to ask the Prefecture, which is the authority responsible for public order, the convocation of the Order and Security Committee which will meet next Friday”. “Drugs were my nightmare – says Giardini – now I want to become the nightmare of those who deal.” The “Born Twice” initiative, which will also be dedicated to the memory of Stefano, the 44-year-old found dead last week in the off-limits area of Miralfiore, will be held from 5.30pm on Sunday and will be divided into several stages to make it clear what he feels a drug addict in withdrawal, how the search for the dose is carried out, with negotiation on the price, payment, delivery and “compelling desire to inject the drug into your vein”, therefore directly on site, hidden in the undergrowth of the park. There are two possible epilogues in the making: either death from an overdose or rescue with detoxification and new life.
