Thursday 27 June, at 8.45pmto the Multicinema Gallery of Barian evening will take place for the first time which is a mix between a theatrical show and a film club: it is entitled «Some like cult» and will be conducted by film critics Giacomo Giaquinto And Giuseppe Grossidirected by Gabriele Scarcelli. The format was born on the web in 2021 (the first five episodes on the Movieplayer YouTube channel, the second series, still ongoing, on the ScreenWorld YouTube channel) and develops as a storytelling about the great directors in the history of cinema.

Giaquinto and Grossi tell curiosities and background stories that hide behind great cult films, between anecdotes and gems narrated with passion, irony and a pinch of theatricality: in the Galleria evening the cinema of Christopher Nolan, a beloved director with the rare ability to popularize his cinema with a strong authorial imprint. In the wake of the consecration that took place at the last Oscar Awards with the victory of his «Oppenheimer», the two film critics (from Puglia like the director) will discuss Nolan’s cinema with the screening of ad hoc montages taken from his filmography, in a theatrical narrative that also aims to be an interactive chat with the public.

Starting from the first two feature films as director – «Following» (1998) and «Memento» (2000) – which made Nolan known to the general public, the overview will inevitably pass through the titles that decreed his greatness and enormous popularity: from «Batman Begins» (2005) to «The Prestige» (2006), from «The dark Knight» (2008) to «Inception» (2010), until the last «Oppenheimer» (2023), awarded 7 Oscars, including best film and best director.

Giaquinto and Grossi will guide the audience in an exciting storytelling, in which the themes dear to the director, his obsessions and poetics will come to the surface. To then share opinions on Nolan’s cinema with the public, in an informal and conversational way. A documentary part will run on the screen, the result of in-depth research into archive material, including images from the set, backstage, still photos and videos from behind the scenes (as well as frames taken from the films), in which to rediscover an often forgotten heritage.
