Yesterday morning the councilor for productive activities of the municipality of Aprilia, Carola Latiniparticipated in the third meeting of the table on agriculture and rural development. Present at the meeting were the regional councilor and president of the economic development and productive activities commission, Enrico Tiero, Pierpaolo Pontecorvo for “Unindustria Roma”, the agri-food manager of the Coop Lazio League Daniele Del Monaco, the representatives of the trade unions, Flai Cgil for the agricultural sector and Filcams Cgil for trade, the mayor of Sabaudia Alberto Mosca and the administrators of the municipalities of the province of Latina. The meeting, dedicated to analyzing the development potential of the agricultural sector and the measures to be put in place to encourage the growth of production realitiesgave administrators a way to address the theme of gangmastering and illegal work, which emerged in all its drama after the death of Satnam Singh, an Indian laborer who lost an arm after an accident at work and was not helped by his employer who then abandoned him outside his home. As rapporteur, councilor Latini brought the problem to the attention of the table, which is particularly widespread also in lower Lazio. “Corporate labor and illegal work – said Carola Latini – represent a problem for our region that must be discussed and on which we must all commit ourselves to definitively overcome it in the concrete proposals that we will elaborate such as the development document in the province of Latina; an important document that will be brought to the attention of the Lazio Region and the central government”.
