Lille flag for Bisceglie Approdi, «We strive every day to make Bisceglie an increasingly welcoming and inclusive city»

Second consecutive Lilac Flag for the Tourist Port of Bisceglie, the only port in Italy to be able to boast the prestigious recognition which certifies accessibility and inclusiveness, attention to the elimination of architectural barriers and the promotion of an inclusive environment for all.

The port, thanks to the daily commitment of Bisceglie Approdi, stands out for the numerous services made available to people with disabilities.

“We are proud, this authoritative recognition attests to the value of the structure and the associations that operate within our Marina”, commented Eng. Nicola Rutigliano, Sole Director of Bisceglie Approdi, who yesterday, together with the Councilor for Social Inclusion Roberta Rigante and the representatives of various local associations that deal with disabilities in the tourist port, welcomed the President of the non-profit association Bandiera Lilla, Roberto Bazzano, to Bisceglie. “We started this process in concert with the Municipal Administration and together with various associations, with the aim of making our port an accessible place. We were pioneers of an initiative that now also other cities on the coast and throughout Italy are following, taking our example. We hope to create an accessible tourism network with the other municipalities of the province, in order to further enrich the tourist offer of our Region”.

“Congratulations to Bisceglie Approdi, to the Sole Director Nicola Rutigliano and to all the staff”, underlined the Mayor of Bisceglie, Angelantonio Angarano, and the Councilor Roberta Rigante. “As the municipal administration, we are committed every day to making Bisceglie an increasingly welcoming and inclusive city. It is precisely in this context that the extraordinary maintenance works for the reactivation of the platform equipped for people with disabilities are included, which will allow everyone to enjoy our splendid sea thanks to the water accompaniment service. This is a further step towards breaking down barriers and promoting accessible tourism for all.”

“We are happy to have found in Bisceglie Approdi an increase in the services already verified last year and a further increase in the sensitivity and size of the network that collaborates with the tourist port”, declared the President of the non-profit Bandiera Lilla Association, Roberto Bazzano . “Evidently the Municipality of Bisceglie, also thanks to Bisceglie Approdi, is ready for a next step towards accessibility and recognition of what has been done”.
