The Sicilian Region has launched a significant economic intervention in favor of local businesses, approving the “Bonus imprese Sicilia”. The Sicilian Regional Assembly (Ars) has given the green light to a provision that provides for the allocation of 50 million euros, with the aim of containing the increase in interest rates on mortgages taken out by companies. This contribution will be paid through Irfis, and will cover the difference between the 3% interest and the increases recorded in the last year.
The Councilor for Economy of the Sicilian Region, Marco Falcone, commented: «After the success of the high mortgage bonus for families, today the Region once again extends its hand to the productive world of Sicily by allocating a good 50 million euros for businesses. The substantial stability recorded so far by our economic system, with GDP growth exceeding 2 percent, confirms that the direction is the right one.”
The intervention is inserted in the context of the budget changes being examined in the room, and presents itself as a concrete response to the expectations of Sicilian companies. Never before has the regional government adopted an interventionist policy as in recent years, in an attempt to mitigate the effects of the global economic crisis that has hit Sicily. This effort is part of a broader framework of measures that aim to support the local production fabric, strongly affected by the ongoing international upheavals.
The financial contribution represents a further step in the regional strategy to support companies, guaranteeing them greater financial stability in a period characterized by significant economic uncertainties. The rule approved by the ARS confirms the Region’s commitment to providing concrete tools to face the challenges posed by financial markets, while promoting the growth and stability of the Sicilian economic system.
