From 27 August to 4 September the Prato event returns which will see a series of artists highly appreciated by the general public in Piazza Duomo, from Francesco De Gregori to CCCP, from Giorgio Panariello to The Kolors.
The most awaited end-of-summer musical event of the year by the people of Prato, the Festival organized by Cultart Foundry in collaboration with the Municipality of Prato, has reached its ninth edition this year. The offer is as usual extremely heterogeneous, so as to be able to meet the most disparate musical tastes, always keeping the variable of artistic quality high.
After the sold out of the other scheduled dates, CCCP will be on stage in Piazza Duomo in Prato on August 27 next, as already announced by FUL in a previous article. Far from being just a nostalgic expression, i CCCP – Faithful to the line they return by popular demand to address their message to today’s world. Free from any label and boundary, they immerse themselves in a series of live performances that cross the sacred and the profane, where the slogan “Produce, consume, die” echoes with renewed relevance. Their success is the result of their ability to make every action iconic, leaving an indelible mark, capable of shaping the collective imagination.
After the big exhibition “Congratulations! CCCP – Faithful to the line 1984-2024” of Reggio Emilia, the three sold out dates of the concert “CCCP to DDDR” at the Astra Kulturhaus in Berlin and the release of the unreleased live album “Anything But New New” – 40 years after the first EP, “Ortodoxy – Giovanni Lindo Ferretti, Massimo Zamboni, Annarella Giudici and Danilo Fatur, accompanied by the band composed of Luca Rossi, Simone Filippi, Ezio Bonicelli, Simone Beneventi and Gabriele Genta they are ready to set the stage on fire September Prato is Entertainmentpresenting itself as one of the unmissable events of the Tuscan summer 2024.
Thursday 29th August, with free admission, will be the night of music Radio Brunothen on August 31st two champions of Tuscany, particularly loved in our city, return by popular demand: Giorgio Panariello & Marco Masini they will be together again for a new round of their hilarious and exciting match, once again in the ring of Piazza Duomo in Prato.
Sunday 1st September the beautiful project of the composer and pianist from Prato Giulia Mazzoni who with his original compositions has gained great attention in the world of classical and contemporary music. FUL recently interviewed the pianist, you can find the article at this link.
His training at the prestigious Verdi Conservatory in Milan and his collaborations with artists of international caliber such as Michael Nyman, testify to his dedication and talent. Giulia and her piano will dialogue with the YAS Symphony Orchestra made up of extraordinary orchestra professors integrated with electronic and percussion musical interventions.
The September 2in the square that has already seen them as guests for an appreciated concert in 2015, i The Kolors – as part of the European Tour 2024, which started in May and sees Stash, Alex and Dario perform for the first time at European festivals – will return to Prato. After participating in the last Sanremo Festival, with a song already certified platinum in Italy, the Neapolitan band has already performed in the arenas of Switzerland, Poland, Germany, Lithuania, Slovenia, and Belgium.
Piazza Duomo will be Jamaica for one night, the September 3with a double concert by two of the best European reggae groups. An evening that is definitely not to be missed by lovers of the genre, because on the large stage of the Prato Festival you will be able to listen, on the same evening, Alborosia And Africa United. Alborosie, an artist of Italian origins, former leader and founder of the Reggae band National Tickets, a naturalized Jamaican, is considered “the Italian king of Jamaica”, where he has moved for years now to fully experience the reggae philosophy, a musical genre that ” it taught him how to be a better person.” On the same evening, Africa Unite, considered by critics to be the most authoritative group in Italian reggae. The Piedmontese band was born in 1981 from an idea of Bunna and Madaski, both from Pinerolo, for a tribute evening to Bob Marley, on the eve of his death.
Grand finale on Wednesday September 4th with Francesco de Gregori. On stage, the Roman singer-songwriter will offer the public the songs with which he has forever marked the history of Italian music, accompanied by his band composed of Guido Guglielminetti (bass and double bass), Carlo Gaudiello (keyboards), Primiano Di Biase (hammond), Paolo Giovenchi (guitars), Alessandro Valle (pedal steel guitar and mandolin) and Simone Talone (percussion).
