“Thank you very much because without you all this would not have been possible”. The mayor Katia Tarasconi made a point of personally greeting the Civil Protection volunteers, retired firefighters, retired municipal employees, representatives of the neighborhood groups, Alpini and Scouts: all associations that have made themselves available to support the Municipality in the management of the Piacenza stage of the Tour de France now upon us.
The big day, awaited for months, is Monday 1st July but from Saturday 29th the organizational machine will begin operations. To share the various details, especially from a logistical and road point of view, a meeting was held this afternoon at the Sant’Ilario auditorium in the presence of the traffic councilor Matteo Bongiorni who, with the commander of the local police Mirko Mussi and with inspector Gianluca Sugamele, went into detail on various management aspects for which the collaboration of volunteers will be of fundamental importance. “Making your time available to offer a service to the community – underlined the mayor – is something that honors you. On this specific occasion, then, your support has an even greater weight because we are faced with a truly unique, I would say epochal event; an event which, in terms of importance, size and management complexity, is unprecedented in Piacenza. And our offices, who have been working on it for months with a commitment that is difficult to perceive from the outside, know this well. So my thanks are particularly heartfelt.”
