Since the eighteenth century it has kept its history alive in the brick structure in the coastal hamlet of Marina di Grosseto. The San Rocco Fortress is about to reopen its ancient doors for the “San Rocco Festival” from 20 July to 5 September with the aim of animating the fort not only for tourists but also to create a meeting moment for the Maremma people. This year it will reach its fifth edition and has a calendar with two new features: “San Rocco Classica” and a charity concert for the “Il Sole Foundation” with a repertoire that offers the “tribute to the Nomads”.

“A fifth edition – states councilor Luca Agresti – is a sign of continuity, in a flagship of our Municipality”. “It is – says the artistic director Giorgio Zorcù – a festival of relationship with the city, where a dialogue is created”.

It starts on Saturday 20 July at 6.30pm with “Three streets in the landscape”, a free event, for the “Pediatrics Calendar 2025” project, a department to which the proceeds from the sale will be donated. It will continue at 9.30pm with Alessandro Benvenuti in “Lieto Fine”. The events continue at 9.30pm. Saturday 27 July with Andrea Cosentino in “Rimbambimenti”, Friday 2 August concentration for the Il Sole Foundation, Sunday 4 August Tommaso Banfi in “Cattivi”, Friday 9 August the Lombardi Tiezzi company in “Pluto”, Tuesday 13 August with Sara Donzelli in “Lampedusa Beach” with spectators in headphones, the Gray Cat Festival concert on Saturday 17 August, Sunday 18 August at 6pm Sara Donzelli with “Il Piccolo Principe” and Tuesday 20 August at 7pm and 9.30pm Teatro di Strada “Prospero”.

Finally comes San Rocco Classica with the “Città di Grosseto” Symphony Orchestra curated by Antonio di Cristofano on 22 August, on 29 August with the junior formation and then finishing on 5 September.
