Migrants: Diciotti ship in Crotone with 5 bodies from the shipwreck in the Ionian Sea

The Coast Guard vessel Diciotti docked at around 9pm this evening at the port of Crotone with five bodies of migrants recovered in the Ionian Sea after the shipwreck a few days ago about 120 miles from the Calabrian coast on board. According to what has been learned, the bodies should subsequently be taken to Gioia Tauro after the investigations by the Scientific Police and medical examiner. The total number of victims is 34 – including the woman rescued together with the survivors and who died once she arrived in Roccella Jonica.

A side note on the sad news is obligatory towards the readers: this time too it was not possible to closely document what we have just written to you. Having arrived at the entrance to the new port – so to speak, the area on Via Leonardo da Vinci – where the Diciotti ship docked, I was told verbatim by two men from the Coast Guard that they had “received orders not to let journalists in”. The few clips that I managed to record with the video camera I shot while remaining at a considerable distance on the consortium road. Any comments are up to you.
