Artificial intelligence in insurance distribution. Important conference organized in Padua by the local Provincial Sna section

A moment of work

PADUA – On June 20th, at the NH Hotel in Paduaa conference was held entitled “Artificial intelligence in insurance distribution”. The event, organized by the President of the Provincial Sna section of Padua Massimo Pegoraro and its Board, brought together industry experts to discuss the growing impact of AI in the insurance world and in our daily lives.
At the center of the debate, the potential and risks of this constantly evolving technology. Fabrizio WelcomePresident of IAMCP, the association that brings together IT companies whose business is centered on the Microsoft offering, introduced the topic of generative artificial intelligence, illustrating its enormous development potential in the insurance and financial sector,
While Alice BottaroMicrosoft’s Technology Strategist partner, illustrated its practical applications, especially in automation.
The key topic of the impact of AI on Privacy and GDPR was explored in depth by Rudi Floreani, founder of the law firm of the same name, which provided a first analysis on the AI Act issued by the EU in recent days to regulate the use of Artificial Intelligence. Users must be aware of the processing of their data and be able to decide which ones, with whom and
how to share them. Companies, in turn, are required to guarantee maximum transparency. The greatest difficulty, however, will be to develop the correct methods to effectively identify and hinder any violations of the regulations.
The advent of AI will require a review of the relationship with customers and business processes to remain competitive. The round table, which followed the speeches of the speakers, saw participants, in addition to the aforementioned Fabrizio Benvenuto, Alice Bottaro and Rudi Floreani, Giuseppe GulinoPresident of Share, the association that brings together software houses operating in the insurance sector who reiterated the profound meaning of sharing goals between producers and users, Francesco MerzariCEO of SIA Spa, convinced that after the macro analyzes it is necessary to bring the whole debate back to the concrete facts that make up the daily lives of operators and in particular of insurance and Emanuele BardiniPresident of the Sna Provincial section of Verona and Sna regional coordinator of Veneto, who has shown great sensitivity to the matter in the belief that the Union can play a primary role in the perspective of developing an agency’s Artificial Intelligence.
The moderator Roberto Bianchidirector of the publications SnaChannel and L’Agente di Assicurazione, in his appreciated introduction, illustrated the enormous scope of AI in every sector of present and future society, focusing his analysis on the ethical impacts and potential dangers that could derive from the non-strictly regulated use of generative Artificial Intelligence by subjects capable of manipulating it to their own advantage.
There is no doubt – it has been underlined – that the opportunities offered by AI are immense, in terms of efficiency and innovation and yet it is essential that companies and users are aware of the potential risks and ethical implications. Only through the sharing of rules common to different countries and different geographical areas with their cultures and visions of life, as well as through the acquisition of greater awareness on the part of citizens, will it be possible to fully exploit the potential of this revolutionary development of technology .
The conference concluded with greetings from President Pegoraro, who thanked the speakers and participants for the attention shown, addressing an invitation to the National Sna to replicate similar insights on the topic of AI on the territory about which colleagues show the need to know more.
The Press Working Group, for its part, will provide in the pages of issue 151 of The Insurance Agentwhich will be published in September, a dossier of a political and technical nature on the topic of the Artificial Intelligence of agents, in the hope of providing an independent analytical key with respect to the technological strategies of the principals.
