When they found themselves in front of him, Ayan was lying on his back at the edge of the pool, unconscious.with cyanotic lips and downturned eyes: he had drank too much water and couldn’t breathe. But fate would have it that, on the weekly rest day of the first shift of the Flying Squad, Domenica and Antonio found themselves in that structure who, a few weeks before, they had completed the course – organized in collaboration with the Italian Rescuers Association – to obtain the BLD-S operator certification and the qualification to use the defibrillator for first aid.
