Publishing, Il Settimanale, Karima Moual new managing editor

Rome, 24 June. (askanews) – A few months after the acquisition of “Il Settimanale” by the Mintaka group, the new challenge of president Zakaria Moufid is enriched with another novelty: the appointment of the Italian-Moroccan journalist as managing director. The publisher announced this in a press release.

Signature and editorialist today for “La Repubblica” and “La Stampa” and a well-known face on TV, with her interventions in the main television programmes, Moual has distinguished herself professionally in recent years for her commitment and her profound gaze in telling and analyzing not only the different faces of immigration, but also the more stringent policies that concern the Arab world and Africa in relation to our country and the European continent. Specializing in Middle Eastern politics, the Arab Islamic world and immigration, before arriving at the Gedi Group, Mouad collaborated with “Il Sole 24 Ore”, “Tg1”, “Radio1” and various television programmes.

“I enthusiastically welcome this call, which is both a challenge at a time when information remains a vital tool for democracy, economic development and mutual knowledge towards others and the world around us. The publisher Moufid opens an important path, which I am happy to travel together with my professional contribution.” – said Moual.

A new direction, therefore, but above all a new vision and a new editorial line which will soon see the release of the new “Il Settimanale”.

President Zakaria Moufid underlined that: “the appointment of Karima Moual marks the beginning of a new era for our newspaper, an era characterized by a renewed commitment to complete and authentic information, thanks to her competence and her integrity in carrying out accurate, impartial and inclusive communication, but also a unique perspective deeply rooted in our multicultural community. A choice dictated by the desire to be able to deal with complex and delicate issues with intelligence and sensitivity”

Information dedicated to small and medium-sized businesses but not only, with an international perspective that can be expressed in many voices from Italy, Europe, towards Africa and the Arab world, in a key of close exchange, thanks to in-depth , analyzes and a continuous narrative of current political, economic and cultural events through a variety of innovative and dedicated tools and platforms that can better involve second and third generations of Italians.

“The arrival of Karima Moual as managing director represents a further step forward in the growth of our editorial group, which will bring even more prestige and authority, consolidating our position as a reliable and respected source of information” – these are the words of Marco Sutter, editorial director of the group.

A new point of view, therefore, which will tell the story of Italy changing through integration. A tool for building an informed multicultural community and aware of the importance of the right communication that respects and values different cultures as a necessity for economic, social and cultural progress.
