SIENA. Filippo and Matteo Paoli are two new players for Vismederi Costone Siena. The twins, born in 2001, have reached an agreement with the club and will play the Interregional Serie B championship with the yellow-green jersey.
Filippo is a 178 centimeter play-guard, who last season played for the Spezia Basket Club in the Interregional Serie B. The player began his sporting career in the youth teams of Don Bosco Livorno, then faced the Serie C Silver in Pontedera with Juve and then returned to Don Bosco in C Gold. The following year he moved to Pielle Livorno where he played in the 2021/22 and 2022/23 National Serie B championships. In the last season, among the Bianconeri of Tarros, he averaged over 15 points in 30 games.
Matteo is in turn a 178 centimeter play-guard, who began his basketball career together with Filippo in the Don Bosco youth team, the team with which he made his first team debut. Here the brothers part ways for two years, with Matteo remaining in Livorno until the 2022/23 season. In the last season the two met in La Spezia, wearing the Tarros shirt, in the Interregional B championship, where Matteo collected almost 15 points on average in 30 games.
Matteo, on his first day as a Costonian, said: “I am enthusiastic about starting this journey in Siena and at Costone”. “There had already been contacts between me and the company in the past – he continued – and being able to conclude this marriage leaves me very satisfied. I also have to thank Michele Belletti, his presence played a fundamental role in being able to conclude this operation. Siena is a very important place for Tuscan basketball, and personally I can’t wait to get to know the whole environment.”

These are Filippo Paoli’s first words as a yellow-green player. “The managers talked to me about the project – continues the player – and I was positively impressed by it. I hope to repay the trust that Costone has shown in me, also because the next championship will be tough, with many teams already strengthening.
