“Ausl Romagna embezzles employee money”

“The local health authority appropriates 2.5 million euros owned by employees, so we don’t sign the agreement, even if it is an improvement”. The Uil Fpl of Cesena, together with that of Forlì and that of Ravenna, announces the rejection of a pact which “contains various requests made over time, such as the increase in meal vouchers, the financing of a project for sudden absences in services 12 noon and 24 hours a day, the start of horizontal progressions, the confirmation of Welfare for those with children, the expansion of the time slots for the use of meal vouchers, with the possibility of combining them through a specific study to be outlined”. Despite these aspects, however, the union acronym explains why “we decided not to sign: as in the same agreement the USL company appropriates 2 million and 500 thousand euros owned by the employees”. According to the union acronym, “taking funds away from employees is an act that cannot find any type of sharing or justification at a time, moreover, where employees are under great pressure to cope with a gradual downsizing of the workforce. In fact, the Region itself states that in the Romagna Local Health Authority alone, the number of employees, as of 31 December 2023, decreased by 136 units. This means greater discomfort for those who remain in the ward with consequent difficulties in planning holidays, permits, managing rest periods and sudden absences”. Uil Fpl sees in the methods of “appropriation” of the finances dedicated to employees a dynamic that is very similar to what had “already been repeated with the funds of the healthcare management staff; even in that circumstance we, together with other organizations, had not signed the agreement. The 2 and a half million will return to the employees’ assets, thus guaranteeing them further benefits, especially to those who cannot find answers with this agreement. The additional services, however – this is the condition set by the union acronym – are paid with company resources together with a parallel adjustment of the workforce. This is a basic principle.”
