The passage of the historic race in the province brought thousands of people onto the streets
Excitement for the passage of the Tour de France in the province, with thousands of people in the streets of Cervia, Ravenna, Russi and Faentino, before entering the Imola area after the climb of the Gallisterna, already a protagonist at the 2020 World Championship.

A showcase for the territory too, with live broadcast on Rai Sport which has focused on the most significant monuments on several occasions with small in-depth analyses in particular on the mosaics (on Eurosporthowever, the passage to Sant’Apollinare in Classe and Ravenna is much overlooked) and some curious “in the field” interviews, such as those with sciucaren of Godo (with lots of jokes about the double meaning of the place name). And some gaffes, like the Cervia Salt Pans which according to the French graphic design are in the municipality of Cesenatico or the Basilica of San Vitale which becomes the “archiepiscopal chapel”…
The Rai commentary was passionate, thanks to the technical commentary of Davide Cassani from Faenza – excited when the runners passed near his house, in the center of Faenza – with quotes from the Fira di Sett Dulur, from Passatore (and his presumed relationship with Raffaella Carrà, among the general irony), even of Boncellino, and then naturally of Brisighella and its Via degli Asini.
As for the race, worth mentioning is the double initial escapewhich allowed the people of Ravenna to applaud the group of escapees, the two closest pursuers and then the group with the yellow jersey.
Among the first comments, those of the mayor and president of the Province of Ravenna, Michele de Pascale: «The passage of the cyclists in the heart of the flooded lands was a tribute to our Romagna, which with its own hands was able to get back up after the tragic event of last May, with the hope that this great showcase can help keep attention high on this land.
