Lille-Sud: a fire breaks out in a store, the area completely filled with smoke

The inhabitants of Lille-South must have suffocated, this Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at the end of the afternoon. Indeed, a fire was triggered in a commerce located at 48 rue de Marquillies. Several vehicles from firefighters went to the site for this intervention. A thick smoke has spread throughout the neighborhood.

The air is unbreathable throughout the neighborhood

Around 6pm this Tuesday, a fire broke out at La Cabane de la Glisse, a shop specializing in the sale of scooters, rollerblades, and skateboards. Located at 48 rue de Marquillies, the business is not far from the central police station.

At around 6:15 p.m., several fire engines arrived at the scene to put out the fire. Traffic was therefore interrupted while the intervention was carried out.

The fire also caused thick, acrid smoke to spread throughout the neighborhood, making the air difficult to breathe.
