Immediate turning point in the investigation into the double murder of the brothers Claudio and Marco Marrandino, aged 28 and 39, killed in the early afternoon of today, 15 June, in an ambush in Orta di Atella, in the province of Caserta. A 53-year-old worker was stopped and taken to the barracks, by the carabinieri of the Marcianise company and the Aversa investigative unit. The man is suspected of having set up the ambush that killed the two brothers.
Having ruled out the Camorra ambush, the investigations immediately led to a turning point with the first suspect.
The two victims were well known in Cesa. Marco Marrandino was a lawyer and had also held the role of president of the city council from 2012 to 2015 with the mayor Cesario Liguori, while his younger brother Claudio was a building contractor well known in the sector. Perhaps, at the basis of the heinous crime, there could be conflicts linked to the activity of Claudio Marrandino. Around 2pm today, the two brothers were aboard a white BMW SUV when they were reached by an armed man who fired, first killing Claudio in the car and chasing the 39-year-old lawyer who had attempted to escape, shooting him in the back. .
