Horror in Fano, in the province of Pesaro-Urbino, where a elderly couple spouses was killed at home. The man, Giuseppe Ricci (known as Giorgio), 75 years old, was apparently massacred with a blunt object. While his wife, Luisa Marconi, aged 70, was allegedly strangled. It was the couple’s son, who lives on the upper floor of the apartment where the tragedy occurred, who alerted 112. The forty-year-old declared that he was not involved in the matter, but the investigators decided to subject him to questioning.
The double murder
The alarm went off around 7.30 this morning, Monday 24 June. According to what Corriere della Sera learned from investigative sources, Giuseppe Ricci’s lifeless body was lying on the bed, with his face turned upwards and his head battered by blows. Luisa Marconi, however, was lying on the living room floor. From an initial medical-legal finding, no wounds attributable to an attack with blunt objects were found on the woman’s body. Circumstance that supports the hypothesis of strangulation.
The victims struggled with the attacker
The dynamics of what happened are still unclear. According to what transpires, in the house there would be clear signs of struggle.
Therefore it is very likely that the two elderly people attempted to defend themselves from the attacker, whose identity is still unknown. Particularly Giuseppe: he would have tried to dodge the blows to the head, only ending up being barbarously massacred.
