Sixteen free events, including theatre, circus arts and workshops, make up the Summer wonders – Theater music animation. Title of the summer program, with the artistic direction of Teresa Ludovico, that the Kismet Cooperative has been offering since July as part of the Public Notice ‘Le due Bari 2024’, promoted by the Municipality of Bari and financed by the POC Metro 2014-2020. Over a month of free-entry events in theaters, outdoor spaces and hubs for childhood and adolescence, which include four national debuts and two regional premieres.

National Debuts – On the stage of the Kismet Theatre in Bari for the first time on July 4th the musical reading The borders of the sea (produced by Teatri di Bari in collaboration with Ciheam Bari and ARPA Puglia): the voice of Augusto Masiello and the notes of Mirko Signorile’s piano tell, in the text by Onofrio Pagone, the story of Simeone, who on the waves of the Mediterranean retraces a life marked by many encounters, many handshakes, many exchanges. The show is preceded by a workshop organized by the Associazione Amiki – Amici del Teatro Kismet that offers a guide to viewing it, with an analysis of the passage from the written page to the oral story in relation to music.

Also on the same stage on July 11th the dialogue between the musician and performer Roberta Carrieri with her irreverent puppets protagonists of the stand-up concert Doll to whom?. On July 18th a national debut will see Pietro Naglieri on stage – an actor of theatre, cinema and TV, last year in the cast of the film ‘Percoco’ – with the theatrical project Abyss. A sensorial journey. Look to the young audience, the latest national debut scheduled for Summer Wonders: The road of the ants of the Bandito Theatre. July 22nd at the Granteatrino Casa di Pulcinella Francesca Zoccarato and Matteo Curatella retrace the path of the ants, travelling between the country of “how are you?” and that of the crunchy salad on a special bicycle.

Theatre, clowning and puppets – The ‘Summer Wonders’ programme is completed with theatre, circus arts and puppet shows for the little ones. On 20 and 21 July Dadde Visconti presents his Single suitcase nell’hub Pari Passo di Madonnella: an ironic and sweet show performed by a mime-clown who lives in wonder and is amazed by what happens around him. The Nest hub in via Manzoni, in the Libertà district, becomes the stage on 23 and 24 July of the Prestige Variety – The show in flesh and wood: Mitzi, an elegant clown in a skirt, takes the audience into her world of retro fantasies, surreal manias and real dreams. Next to her, her wooden partners: puppets with an innocent appearance, but… who will be the real protagonist of this show?

Body and music are the expressive languages ​​that dialogue in Gender Gamesmaking its regional debut on July 25. Margò Paciotti is accompanied by the music of HER in an intimate authorial, but at the same time universal, journey to reflect on identity. A musical journey that touches on baroque, electronic, rock and pop. It is dedicated to one of the symbolic musicians of Puglia, then, Before flying. At the origins of Modugno. First Apulian staging of the show by Koreja Teatro, directed by Salvatore Tramacere, scheduled for August 1st at Kismet: it delves into the roots of Domenico Modugno, with a theatrical elaboration that starts from recent publications and newspaper clippings era, private photographs and precious oral testimonies.

Madame Pistache’s Grand Cabaret (August 6 at the Hub San Paolo in via Trentino Alto Adige, August 7 at the Parish of San Sabino in Madonnella) is a musical journey conducted, played, danced and interpreted by Marta Pistocchi, a virtuoso violinist and comedian. With a violin, tap shoes, a loop station and a microphone, Madame Pistache gives life, body and voice to all the guests of her show. In The stories of the madman – scheduled for August 8th at the Parish of San Pio X, in the Stanic neighborhood, and on August 9th at the Punto Luce hub in Largo Annunziata in Bari Vecchia – Matteo Curatella becomes the narrator of the artistic figure of the Cantastorie: the Fool, accordionist storyteller, introduces himself and begins to tell, improvise rhymes, sing songs, play, invent stories with the audience, play and dedicate love serenades. Closing on August 15th at the Kismet Theater with the story in music Odysseyproduced by Teatri di Bari: Teresa Ludovico (narrator) and Alessandro Pipino (live music) interpret the eight cantos of Homer’s masterpiece in Tonino Guerra’s rewriting.
