An opportunity to tell the story of Lombardy through the eyes of your own “lens”

LECCO – It was approved by the regional council, on the proposal of the councilor for Tourism, Territorial Marketing and Fashion Barbara Mazzalithe resolution which establishes the criteria for the tender “Lombardia Style. Beauty without borders“. An opportunity for all photography and videomaking lovers to tell the story of Lombardy through the eyes of their own “lens” and contribute to the evolution of the new regional brand: Lombardia Style.

It will be possible to participate in the competition with photos and videos that immortalize hidden corners, panoramas, artisan excellence and success stories, of which Lombardy, with its 12 provinces, is rich.

L’objective is to enhance and promote the tourist offer of Lombardy through the collection of images that tell its beauty through the eyes of those who live there. A true storytelling with which to “capture” panoramas, unknown views, people with success stories, which certify the true “Lombardia Style”. A style, the Lombard one, recognized in the world and that will find a photographic and video expression.

“The creation of our new regional brand ‘Lombardia Style’ is open to everyone’s contribution – comments Barbara Mazzali -.The field of action on which the creatives who want to participate in the selection will be able to indulge themselves is broad, because our Region is rich in extraordinary landscape beauty. But I remind them that our brand not only identifies the best of places, but also of ‘Made in Lombardy’ production and creativity (fashion, food and wine, craftsmanship, etc.). Furthermore, one of the strategies is to make Lombardy’s tourist offer known outside the already iconic streets. It will therefore be interesting to discover locations, objects, productions, glimpses of life. The eyes and lenses of those who want to make a corner of Lombardy great with a shot or a video will be set.”

The announcement provides for the awarding of a cash prize for a total of 20 thousand euros. Photos and videos must be unpublished and not only technical quality will be rewarded, but also originality and communicative effectiveness.

Individuals who have having reached the age of 18 by the date of publication of the call. The financial endowment for the implementation of the initiative amounts to 20 thousand euros from the 2024 regional budget.

Color photographs with both horizontal and vertical framing must not contain recognizable faces or commercial brands and must have a minimum resolution of 300 dpi. High definition videos can be 15 or 30 seconds long, in at least one of the following formats 16:9, 1:1, 9:16. The videos must not contain recognizable faces or commercial brands. All photos and videos participating in the competition will be the property of the Lombardy Region and the regional system bodies that can use them for the creation of promotional material on paper, web, video installations, etc.

L’Awarding of prizes will take place on the basis of a ranking evaluation procedure. The photographic proposals and videos received will be examined by an evaluation team made up of regional representatives and possibly companies and bodies of the regional system, according to the following criteria: originality of the image/video; technical quality of the photo/video; communicative effectiveness.
