First Seasonal Red Badge on the Northern Adriatic Motorways

The first seasonal red badge was reported for the last weekend of June along the Alto Adriatico motorways. The dealership expects a notable influx of vehicles: between 181 thousand and 189 thousand transits on Saturday, and between 174 thousand and 182 thousand transits on Sunday.

These forecasts are based on data from the same weekend in 2023, when 178,000 transits were recorded on Saturday, July 1, and 177,000 on Sunday, July 2. However, the numbers have been revised upwards following the positive trend of the weekend of June 22-23, which saw a 4% increase compared to the previous week across the entire network managed by the concessionaire.

The main tourist destinations will be the seaside resorts of Friuli Venezia Giulia and Veneto, as well as the Slovenian and Croatian coasts. It is estimated that over the 24 hours of Saturday, about 27 thousand vehicles will exit the motorway at Latisana, 19 thousand at Lisert, and 11 thousand at Villesse and San Donà respectively.

Traffic Forecasts

As regards the motorway sections, heavy traffic is expected on Saturday morning along the A23 Udine Sud – Palmanova and along the A4 towards Trieste, also in the afternoon (red badge). Heavy traffic (yellow sticker) is also expected along the Trieste – Venice route and on the A28, especially in the afternoon and evening towards Portogruaro.

The usual exit and return traffic is expected on Sunday 30 June, with heavy traffic (yellow sticker) on the A4 in both directions and on the A28, in the morning, towards Portogruaro
