The second edition of the competition announced by the University of Basilicata is underway
The University of Basilicata, in collaboration with CGIL, CISL and UIL and with the patronage of the Municipality of Cersosimo, launches the second edition of the “Angela Ferrara” degree award.
The University of Basilicata, in collaboration with the CGIL, CISL and UIL unions and with the patronage of the Municipality of Cersosimo, has announced a competition for the awarding of the “Angela Ferrara” degree/doctorate prize – 2nd edition – year 2024. The award is dedicated to the memory of Angela Ferrara, poet and author of children’s books from Cersosimo (Potenza), victim of feminicide, killed by her husband at just 31 years old on 15 September 2018.
This award is part of the activities to combat violence against women, promoting awareness that such violence has a cultural matrix to be studied and eradicated. The initiative aims to educate young generations in an equal culture that combats stereotypes, enhances differences and does not make them the object of abuse.
The second edition of the award includes separate awards for bachelor’s and master’s degree holders, as well as for holders of a research doctorate. In particular, the award intends to valorise degree and doctoral theses that highlight the female contribution in the economic, social, political, scientific, artistic, philosophical and literary fields, rewarding the best ones.
Graduates of the single-cycle master’s degree and master’s degree courses of any Italian university or AFAM institution, who have obtained the title with a grade of no less than 100/110 in the academic years 2020-2021, can participate in the competition. 2021-2022 and 2022-2023. Holders of a PhD title from any Italian university of the XXXIII, XXXIV and XXXV cycle are also eligible.
