It was presented this morning at the Sala del Parlamentino of the Salerno Chamber of Commerce (Via Roma, 29) the 12th edition of the White Night of Salernoa great music and entertainment event, scheduled in four squares of Salerno Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th Julyorganized by Fenailp, the National Autonomous Federation of Entrepreneurs and Freelancers, under the patronage of the Campania Region, the Province of Salerno, the Municipality of Salerno, the Salerno Chamber of Commerce, Scabec and the Salernitana Community Foundation, with the collaboration of Confcommercio and Confesercenti.
Born from an intuition in 2011, the happening has, among others, the objective of increasing the presence of visitors and tourists in the city, encouraging the circuit of local trade, crafts and tourism in general. This year’s will be the first White Night Salerno also in the Metaversethe new frontier for companies.
«The Notte Bianca is an opportunity for commerce, tourism and the city’s young people. Salerno, through recreational and cultural events like these, offers itself as a living room that welcomes tourists and citizens», began the vice president of the Salerno Chamber of Commerce Giuseppe Gallo.
The word then passed to Mayor of Salerno Vincenzo Napoli. «The White Night is an event awaited by the city and traders. By involving all the neighborhoods with spectacular events and transversal guests, it turns out to be a family celebration. We celebrate and hopefully buy».
Then Alessandro Ferrara, tourism councilor of the Municipality of Salerno. «The city also grows with events like this. Salerno is an attentive city at the moment. We have tourist flows that bring great satisfaction, just look at the tourist tax we collect».
He also intervened Dario Loffredo, councilor for commerce of the Municipality of Salerno. «If we are at the 12th edition it means that this initiative is working. Trade has changed, there is no longer permanent trade, but if there is a project behind every activity or initiative, the right impulse is given to the city. This means networking. So much so that the dates of the Notte Bianca are not chosen at home but coincide with the sales in the Campania Region.”
It’s still, Rocco Galdi, councilor for mobility of the Municipality of Salerno. «We hypothesized to implement the public transport service. In detail, from 5pm on 6th July until 3am on 7th July the free shuttle service will be guaranteed for the Arechi Stadium – Via Leucosia section and return. Service extension also for the metro active until 3 am on July 7th. Last ride at 2am on July 8th».
In support of the white night the Events Group Consortium. «What we have built over the years is a necessary event to kick off summer in the city. Next year I would add a day to the two canonical dates. On the four stages there will be the helmsmen Grazia Serra, Rossella Pisaturo, Benny Ronca, Erika Pinto, Ciro Giradi. For next year I officially invite the organizers to present the line up of the Notte Bianca 2025 in Sanremo», said the President Enzo Russolillo.
Almost at the end the word went to Mario Arciuolo, secretary of Fenailp. «We wanted to dedicate this edition to Paolo Morelli, an all-round artist, not only an author of song lyrics that wrote the history of Italian music but also an extraordinary painter».
The final lines fall to Angelo Di Gennaro. «I celebrate my 40 years of activity in Salerno. For me it was essential to be here. I have a visceral connection with the city. Salerno was like a doctor for me. When I was younger, there was a period in which I gave up, I no longer wanted to do this job; Salerno gave me a reason to continue. I will never stop loving Salerno», concluded the artist.
THE PRICES Friday 5 July at 8.30pm at the Maremò Beach Club (via Salvatore Allende) the journalist Attilio Romitawill lead the festive evening which will culminate with delivery of 4 prizes. Award “White Night Salerno” in memory of the Salerno artist Luciano Schiavone, intended for Salerno artists who have distinguished themselves in entertainment, culture, art, professions and sport at national and international levels. The recognition will be divided into two sections: New Generation and Special Awards. The first one will go to Giulio Della Monica, actor from Salerno protagonist of the Rai TV series “Per Elisa – Il caso Claps”. The second a Vittoriana Abate, journalist and Rai presenter, as well as writer and author of successful programs such as Door to door and to the “comedian at the service of the citizen”, as he himself likes to define himself, Angelo Di Gennarowhich this year celebrates 40 years of activity.

SPECIAL DELIVERY An edition in the name of Paolo Morelli. Saturday 6 July at 5pm at the Sala Genovesi of the Salerno Chamber of Commerce it will happen there presentation of the debut novel by the guitarist of Alunni del Sole, Bruno Morelli, who remembers his brother in the book: “Students of the Sun. Paolo Morelli, the inventor of harmony”. With the foundation of the musical group, the two brothers enchanted generations of young people with songs that are still pure poetry today. In the novel Bruno recounts Paolo’s artistic and human story, from which emerge memories, anecdotes, anxieties, dreams and disappointments, his private experience, completely immersed in the world of art, but also his public experience as the brilliant creator of the history of the students of Sole and his many successes. The meeting will also be an opportunity to witness the unveiling of a painting by the late brother Paoloa great musician but also brilliant in the art of painting, worth over 15 thousand euros. Morelli decided to donate the work to the Chamber of Commerce, among the most important patrons of the Notte Bianca Salerno. In addition to the donation, the afternoon will be offered as a small exhibition with other works by Paolo Morelli.
The guests, places and program of the Notte Bianca Salerno 2024 There will be two evenings of the White Night: Saturday 6 July from 10pm Piazza Monsignor Grasso in Mercatello the concert of Students of the Sun and, to follow, Angelo Di Gennaro.
