Matera – “Ferroluglio – Neighborhood Celebration” it is an event organized by Sant’Angelo in collaboration with the CNA of Matera on July 13th and 14th.
This event represents a journey into the past, which will offer an immersive experience in the history and artisan traditions of the region.
The event will take place in charming neighborhood of Rione Pianelle, where it will be possible to walk among the benches of master craftsmen who will show theirs old jobspassed down from generation to generation.
The artisans present they will share their creations with visitorsallowing you to appreciate the techniques and materials used.
During the event, participants will have the opportunity to taste local delicacies prepared according to ancient traditional recipes.
This combination of art and gastronomy will help create a picturesque and colorful atmosphere.
The initiative aims to increase the entertainment offer in the Sassi of Matera, promoting local culture and traditions through the direct involvement of the community and tourists.
Event program:
July 13th (free event):
- 7.00 pm: Comedy show on Matera in the 1950s at the Sant’Angelo court.
- 7.30 pm: Opening of the artisans’ exhibition in the Più Sud square and on the stairs in front of the Rione Pianelle square.
- From 7.30pm: Street food stand in collaboration with Più Sud.
- From 7.30pm to 9.30pm: Live show with folk music.
