In fact, the last week that separates us from the actual opening of the summer transfer market begins. On July 1st, the negotiations will really be able to start in full swing, although obviously sporting directors from all over Italy have already been working for weeks to define exchanges, offers, contract preliminaries and quid pro quos. It is no coincidence that he has already landed a shot, namely that of defender Nicolò Gigli from Rimini, evidently wanted with conviction by coach Troise, who last season used him consistently at the center of the red and white defense. The left-footed defender repaid the trust by also scoring four goals: in terms of contribution in the scoring phase, he could therefore be the ideal replacement for another central defender with a goal-scoring habit like Giacomo Risaliti, should he leave to join the Indians’ Livorno. For the rest, the maneuvers of the amaranth director Nello Cutolo still branch out on several fronts.

On the one hand there is the need and desire to welcome a valuable striker to the city, capable of bringing a double-digit number of goals, an essential viaticum for the leap in quality hoped for and promised to the square. The first name at the top of the list is always that of Claudio Morra, also ex-Rimini, who had a fantastic season with Troise, scoring 19 goals.

However, as mentioned in recent days, his is a profile coveted by many clubs, including top ones, he still has two years left on his contract with the Romagna club and has a mind-boggling release clause for the third series. All reasons that call for caution in a negotiation that could drag on.

It will therefore be necessary to understand whether Cutolo will eventually intend to wait for market developments or whether he will want to accelerate to immediately make the striker available to the coach to join or alternate with Gucci.

There is certainly a desire to speed up on other fronts, such as that linked to Mawuli: optimism filters through about the possibility of seeing the Ghanaian midfielder back in amaranth, even if the successful outcome of the deal with Sudtirol could also mean the opposite path for Pattarello, requested from the South Tyrolean club and tempted by the jump to Serie B.

It is clear that in midfield, given the probable farewells of both Castiglia and Foglia, there is a need to intervene, as well as on the side lanes of the defensive line, where the various Coccias, Renzis and Donatis seem far away at the moment.

In short, movements are expected next week, because the date of the meeting is not that far away: on Sunday 7 July at 7pm in Rigutino the staff and team will meet for a first meeting before starting the preparation. Coach Troise wants to leave early to get to know the group well and immediately impart his idea of football on a technical and tactical level. After the presentation, Troise remained in the city to view the structures and become familiar with the Arezzo environment. The impression is that the Neapolitan coach can’t wait to start working with his new team.
