Bad weather, orange alert is issued for Monday 24 June

The orange state of alert for thunderstorms, landslides and flooding of rivers will be triggered at midnight today. The alert therefore concerns the entire day of tomorrow, Monday 24 June.

Persistent rains are expected in the Emilia-Romagna area which will intensify first on the plain along the Po; then, they will extend and become more abundant in particular between the provinces of Bologna, Reggio Emilia, Modena and Parma: between 30 and 45 millimeters of rain are expected over the 24 hours, with higher peaks, up to 80- 100 millimeters.

Widespread phenomena of runoff, landslides on fragile slopes and rapid rises in hydrometric levels will be possible with possible occupation of the expansion zones of the mountain watercourses in the central sector of the Region and exceeding threshold 2, in particular for the tributaries of the Rhine. all other regional waterways, however, are expected to exceed threshold 1.

In the first part of the day, the rain will be associated with thunderstorms, even of strong intensity, especially in the central-eastern sector and in the Apennine areas.

Furthermore, limited beach erosion phenomena cannot be ruled out due to the rise of wave motion, which could reach 2 meters in height.
