The International Choral Music Festival organized by the “G. Musical Association” reaches its twentieth edition. Rossini” of Sassari with the support of the Sardinia Foundation. Born on the initiative of the artistic director of the Association, M° Clara Antoniciello, since 2004 “the Festival – declares M° Antoniciello – aims to encourage the artistic-cultural exchange of different choral and musical realities, both in the of our region and on a national and international level and has seen, up to now, the participation of over 50 choirs”.
The Festival concerts, all with free entry and starting at 8.30pm, will be held in Sassari on Saturday 29 June at the Church of San Giuseppe; Friday 19 July at the Church of the Beata Vergine del Carmelo and Saturday 20 July at the Church of San Pietro in Silki. Four guest choirs will participate in the Festival this year: the Italian Youth Choir, a unique excellence in the Italian choral panorama composed of young singers from all regions of Italy and directed by Maestro Filippo Maria Bressan; the Lolek Vocal Ensemble, an all-female group from Sassari directed by Maestro Barbara Agnello; the “Melicus” Choir, coming from Marostica, province of Vicenza, and directed by Maestro Cinzia Zanon; the Studium Canticum Choir of Cagliari, directed by Maestro Stefania Pineider. The Association’s choral groups will also not be missing: the Youth Choir “Juvenes Cantores” directed by M° Claudia Dolce and the adult choir directed by M° Clara Antoniciello.
