The synopsis
In a country house lives an extremely religious family who follows the Old Testament Scriptures to the letter. The three daughters have never abandoned the property, subjugated by a master father and a dogmatic grandmother. Sara, the eldest of her three daughters, is the most attached to religious studies and for this reason she is her favorite. Ester is the most uninhibited and reactionary, she would like to see that there is beyond the valley and is constantly looking for the challenge. The common moment of Confession is perhaps the most important of the day’s activities: she closes it and preserves the aspects for which to make amends. The three sisters, in fact, are forced to reveal their every action and hidden thought.
To upset this oppressive routine Primo, another nephew of Paolina, arrives at the farmhouse. Armando can’t stand him, fears contact with his daughters and uses him in the toughest jobs. He is not allowed to sleep at home or eat at the table with his family. His arrival causes a silent conflict between mother and son: Paolina is convinced she can redeem him, Armando instead would like to use his rifle and chase him away. At the same time, the girls, for the first time, discover the face and body of a young male who, day after day, they observe curiously. The feelings and decisions that the three sisters will have and make about Primo will change their lives forever.
