“RimanDati” presented; the third national report on the state of transparency of confiscated assets in local administrations, created by Libera, in collaboration with the Abele Group and the department of cultures, politics and society of the University of Turin and with the precious contribution of Istat.
“In Molise – the report denounces – out of 136 municipalities, two are recipients of confiscated real estate, of these one (as in the last edition) is the one that does not publish the list on its website, as required by law, equal to 50% of the total”.
In general, the negative record in terms of absolute transparency goes to the municipalities of Southern Italy (including the islands) with 248 municipalities that do not publish the list. Northern Italy follows with 87 municipalities and Central Italy with 51.
And “among those postponed – we read – with a percentage below 50%, there are Basilicata, Calabria, Lazio and Molise”.
After these first years of study and research, the main objective, in writing RimanDati, is to learn how to transform data into stories. Every number, every score, every verified information “is for us – we read in the report – a story: a successful reuse experience, a practice to be supported or improved, a participation process that becomes practice. The power of data, and of all those who become its interpreters, is to provoke changes in the community that produces them and to positively contaminate the relationships that are generated. With RimanDati we want to bring about a decisive change in the confiscation and reuse chain, which can transform confiscated assets into common goods”
