Tari, tariffs remain unchanged: «No increase in Barletta»

BARLETTA – «There were hours of intense work spent alongside Mayor Cannito and the municipal offices. The centre-right of Barletta is happy to be able to announce to the citizens of Barletta that, unlike other municipalities, the Tari in our city will not increase”.

It is necessary to start from this declaration of the centre-right Barletta city councilors and civic lists Gennaro Cefola, Letizia Rana, Stella Mele, Riccardo Memeo, Luigi Antonucci, Griamone Gregolane, Vito Tupputi, Flavio Basile, Michele Trimigno, Gennaro Calabrese, Ruggiero Grimaldi, Rocco Dileo, Vittorio Cardone, Rosa Tupputi, Giuseppe Dibenedetto and Ruggiero Fiorella to “visualize” how many fibrillations have occurred in the last two days – in reality also in the past few days – regarding a feared increase in the Tari tax.

The crossfire against the increase had started with harsh positions from the opposition who accused Cannito of being the architect of this situation in light of “his inability to govern Barletta”.

A situation that saw Mayor Cannito make a statement through a social message from his office at Palazzo di Città, where he clarified the administration’s choice not to increase the tax by voting on the measure in the City Council that took place late yesterday afternoon.

Also making his voice heard regarding the “escaped increase” was the president of the City Council, the Forzista Marcello Lanotte, who, although he has been in a bitter and long-lasting controversy with the mayor Cannito for some time, said he was very happy with the provision: “It has finally been the increase in the Tari in Barletta was averted – specifying that a beautiful political page for all the people of Barletta was written”.

Furthermore, the centre-right councilors and civic lists who signed the note specified that it was «a team effort aimed at avoiding the dramatic increase in the waste tax, caused by the inefficiency of the Puglia Region in closing the waste cycle» adding that «the inability of the PD-Emilian Regional Government to close the waste cycle has made this increase necessary for all Apulian municipalities. The absence of public landfills and treatment centers (which force us to send waste to private landfills and often outside the region) frustrates the efforts of all those Apulian citizens who carry out separate waste collection.”

The conclusion: «The Cannito Administration and its centre-right majority have courageously committed themselves to protecting taxpayer citizens who would have paid more due to the fault of others. The same rates as last year will therefore be applied. We believe that this is the best response to the Democratic Party and those members of Forza Italia who, in recent days, have created false alarm among citizens, asserting that the Barlettana Summer would have been paid for thanks to the increase in the Tari. We, for our part, free from interests and power games, continue to faithfully support Mayor Cannito, solving problems and working for the city.”
