Marche Pride colors Ancona: more than 7 thousand for LGBTQ+ rights – News Ancona-Osimo – CentroPagina

ANCONA – Between 7 thousand and 10 thousand people took part in the event yesterday Pride Marches who marched in Ancona in support of the rights of LGBTQ+ people. A colorful wave that traveled through the central streets of the Marche capital. Controversy over the lack of patronage from the Region at the event.

«The Marche Pride in Ancona achieved an unexpected success for the committee – he declares Matteo Marchegiani, president of the Marche Pride Committee and secretary of Arcigay Comunitas Ancona -. The expected number of five thousand people was almost doubled. This is a significant aspect, indicating the desire of Italian citizens to see a different countryin which politics and institutions respond to our requests”.

Marchegiani speaks of «a two-speed Italy, in which politics remains years behind society, Marche Pride has focused attention on issues dear to both the LGBTQ+ community but also on issues of great importance such as IVG, environmental protection and rights for disabled people».

The hope is that the day «will be a warning to those who find themselves in positions of power in wanting to establish a useful dialogue to understand the real emergency situation that still revolves around many people in the Community, who are still victims of violence and discrimination today».
