Fairs, food and wine, culture, sports, music, art, shows, traditions in Savona, Albissola, Noli, Loano, Albenga, Alassio; there are many events scheduled on the Riviera for this last weekend of June, with a look also at what awaits us in the first days of July.

Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June in Loano the 2024 edition of “Sapori di Liguria” will be held, the food and wine festival organized by the Vecchia Loano association with the patronage of the Department of Tourism, Culture and Sport of the Municipality of Loano. On the Loano seafront you can find a selection of Ligurian excellences such as oil, olives, cheeses, cured meats, tomatoes, vegetables, aromatic plants, basil, honey, garlic, products in oil, Ligurian focaccia, wine and typical sweets.

From 28th to 30th June on Lungomare Garassini and in Orto Maccagli in Loano the second edition of the Book Fair organized by Pro Loco Loano Aps with the patronage of the Municipality of Loano, the Province of Savona, the Liguria Region and the National Union of Pro Loco of Italy. During the event, open to all authors, publishing houses, bookshops and illustrators, the latest literary news will be presented and a “direct line” will be created with the authors.

Friday 28th, Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June “Un Mare di Fitness” returns to Piazza De Andrè and on the seafront of Albenga, the event inaugurated last year which was created with the aim of dedicating 3 intense days to learning about the world of sport and which will see the participation of numerous gyms, with many guests including trainers, nutritionists, masseurs and teachers who will carry out training sessions accessible to everyone and for all ages.

In Albenga with the Idea Blu Diving Center, Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June, the 16th HSA inclusive Great Diving Festival starts at 9:00, open to all, with free diving, snorkeling and swimming trials. The event is part of the “Zero Barrier Diving HSA” initiative. With joy and lightness, participants experience underwater and aquatic activities and can acquire new skills in a context far from any form of competition, these distinctive characteristics of HSA events.

Creative Lands New Generations, “The Years in Your Pocket”. The summer festival of children’s theatre organized by Kronoteatro opens Saturday 29 June in Piazza dei Leoni and continues Tuesday 2nd July at the Azienda Agricola Dell’Erba in Albenga. The artistic direction of the event is entrusted to the Genoese author and actress Simona Gambaro.

“Il Trovatore” by Giuseppe Verdi, directed by Stefano Monti, inaugurated the “Festival 20.24 Contaminazioni Liriche” promoted by the Teatro dell’Opera Giocosa of Savona on Thursday. Saturday 29th June at 9.15pm the repeat of the show on the Priamar stage.

The great dance returns to the Priamar in Savona and inaugurates the Festival, Sunday 30 June, will be the New Classical Ballet which brings to the stage one of the most beloved ballets of the Russian tradition of the late nineteenth century, Don Quixote, with the artistic supervision of the NBC Director Rezart Stafa and the Étoile Liliana Cosi. After the inauguration, the Festival continues decentralized, returning to Priamar on 3 August with the Balletto Teatro di Torino.

The event is currently underway in Alassio at the former Anglican church solo exhibition of the painter Athos Faccincani, open until July 7th with the following hours: Monday to Friday from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm; Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm. In the exhibition, entitled “Homage to light”, works that speak of sky, earth and sea, of an infinite love for light and nature, a bridge of the heart stopped in time.

The personal exhibition was recently inaugurated in Alassio “Metaphor of the Journey” by the sculptor Bruno Catalanoone of the major exponents of the contemporary art scene. The exhibition, which kicked off the 2024 edition of Ligyes Alassio Genova Cultura Fest, is composed of two monumental sculptures from the series “I Viaggiatori”, which will be visible on the Molo Bestoso in Alassio until October 31st.

Until July 7, 2024 the first exhibition of the artistic review “Il Passato Presente” will be open to visitors at the UCAI headquarters in Albenga. Luigi Pretin and his works will be the protagonists of the first personal exhibition “Luigi Pretin. Capitolo 1” curated by Roberta Bani and organized by Techne Art Service. A review divided into 3 exhibitions that will enrich the calendar of cultural initiatives in Albenga: Luigi Pretin (22 June – 7 July), Oscar Pelosi (13-27 July). Giorgio di Giorgio (9-21 August).

Dal June 29th to July 5th the first “Löamar Basketball Camp” will be held in Loano. For the first time, Basket Loano Garassini and the Pallacanestro Loano club wanted to offer (to their members and to all youth basketball enthusiasts on holiday in Loano and the surrounding area) the opportunity to participate in a summer basketball camp.

A week dedicated to jazz just a stone’s throw from the sea, from morning to late at night, with masterclasses, aperitifs, concerts, jam sessions and great concerts. From 1st to 6th Julythe fourth edition of AlbisJazz will transform the two Albisolas and Savona into a lively stage, hosting seven great artists of the international jazz scene: Eleonora Strino, Dado Moroni, Emanuele Cisi, Riccardo Fioravanti, Enzo Zirilli, Giampaolo Casati and Dino Cerruti. Super guest Sergio Cammariere; special guest the Swiss vibraphonist Thomas Dobler.

The Ligurian singer-songwriter Chiara Ragnini will take the stage in Piazza Chiappella in Noli Monday 1 Julyfrom 9 pm and with free admission, for his show Di Mare e d’Amore: a journey through the most beautiful singer-songwriter songs where the sea and love intertwine in music and words to discover the salty compositions by great singer-songwriters such as Lucio Dalla, Lucio Battisti, Fabrizio De Andrè, Gino Paoli and many others.

As per tradition, July in Albenga begins with the Feast of the Madonna di Pontelungo. It will start on July 1st with the historical procession which will start from Piazza De Andrè at 9.00 pm. For the July 2nd Celebration the traditional fair will be held in Viale Pontelungo starting from 2.30 pm, at 6.00 pm the mass will be held at the Sanctuary and, to follow, the procession; at 9.30 pm Concert by the Pontelungo Band and at 11.00 pm fireworks show.

Tuesday 2 July in Loano there will be the presentation of the historical novels “Tradito” and “Il boia e la contessa” by Daniele La Corte (Fusta Editore). The event is part of the “Tuesdays of Culture” promoted within the “LOA Legge in Ogni Angolo Estate” review. Daniele La Corte, a professional journalist, after having worked for various national newspapers, has transformed himself into a researcher with the aim of saving from oblivion the facts and characters that characterized the difficult years of the Second World War.

American organist Adam Scone in Italy for a second tour with Savonese Samuele Sem Puppo and Nicola Arecco. The tour started on June 27th in Galeata (Forlì) and ended on July 6th in Turin. Tuesday 2 Julythe trio will perform at the Savona Sanctuary for the Riviera Jazz&Blues Festival, an event awaited by many fans of the legendary Dapton.
