Bologna, 22 June 2024 – Writings against the municipal administration and the police. So the Davide Orsini Democratic Party club in Viale della Repubblica it was vandalized during the night. The reference is to the clashes of the days I saw them in the Don Bosco park, where the committee opposes the renovation of a school and where there were tensions around the construction site for the tram and a cycle path.

“Everything makes us think – say the federation secretary Federica Mazzoni and the city clerk Enrico Di Stasi – that these violent gestures come from anarchist groups who are leading the occupation of the Don Bosco garden, following a day of organized violence against the police and the workers who are building the tram construction site. We ask for clarity, we must overcome the ambiguity. We are no longer faced with a protest on the merits of where to build the new Besta schools; comparison from which the Democratic Party and the municipal administration have never shied away, we are instead faced with a violent political attack, led by a minority, which uses the environment as a pretext for a political battle against the Democratic Party and against the center-left administration. We will always be available for discussion, as demonstrated in recent days by Mayor Lepore and Deputy Mayor Clancy’s calls for dialogue, a discussion on the merits of things and proposals, as we have done in various parts of the city affected by construction sites. We firmly condemn this climate of hatred and these intimidating acts and express full solidarity and closeness to the club.”
Solidarity with the Orsini club and condemnation for the vandalism were also expressed by MP Andrea De Maria: “An unacceptable gesture of political violence which cannot be underestimated – he said -. I heard the councilor of the Municipality of Bologna Simone Borsari to show him all my solidarity for the death threats he has received. A very serious fact that should not be underestimated and which adds to the acts of vandalism carried out against the PD club in Via della Repubblica. All political forces are called to condemn and isolate a disturbing violent trend that is underway. I hope that the police will identify those responsible for the writings as soon as possible threat addressed to councilor Borsari”
