Tour de France, and that’s it

Everything is ready for the Tour de France to pass through the province of Ravenna next Sunday. The yellow caravan will enter the Ravenna area shortly after the start of the stage from Cesenatico, to meet the ‘kilometer zero’ on the Cervia seafront. Here the streets affected by the route are: via Pinarella, via Sicilia, viale Italia, viale De Amicis, Lungomare Deledda, Lungomare D’Annunzio, via Nazario Sauro, Ponte Mobile, via Delle Paratoie, viale Oriani, viale Due Giugno, via XIX Traversa , viale Matteotti, viale Nullo Baldini, via Romea Nord.

In Cervia, the Grande Boucle will be greeted by a 75-meter yellow bicycle designed by the Cooperativa Bagnini, flanked by the six blue letters that make up, thanks to 220 boards and 100 sun loungers, the name of the city overlooking the Adriatic. A welcome message that is a candidate for the prize that the Tour de France jury reserves for the best choreography. In view of the Tour’s passage along the entire route, a parking ban with forced removal will be in force from 8:00 pm tomorrow to 4:00 pm on Sunday. The entire route must be closed to traffic from the early hours of the morning. Entry into the territory of the municipality of Ravenna will take place in Savio; the crossing, in a south-north direction, will also involve Fosso Ghiaia, Classe, Ponte Nuovo, the urban area (from via Cesarea to via Faentina, passing through via di Roma, via Sant’Alberto, the San Gaetanino ring road and via Maggiore), Fornace Zarattini and San Michele. The route is roughly divided into three sections.

The first, from the bridge over the Savio river to the junction for Classe, will be closed to transit from approximately 9am to 2pm. The second, which concerns the road axis from Classe to Fornace Zarattini, will be closed to transit from approximately 8am to 2.30pm. The third, from Fornace to San Michele, will be closed to transit from approximately 9am to 2.30pm. Once past Russi, the race will reach Faenza from via Ravegnana, pass through Corso Garibaldi and Corso Matteotti and continue towards Brisighella, and then touch Riolo Terme after the Monticino climb and the Calbane road. From there the group will go up the valley for a few kilometres, before tackling the Gallisterna climb. Traffic will be interrupted along the entire route from 10.30am to 3.30pm. Public transport lines will also experience service changes and may experience delays.

The northern beaches and Lido Adriano will normally be reachable. The state road 16 Adriatica in the north-south direction will be entirely usable (with the exception of the exit on the provincial road 253 via Faentina) up to the exits on the E45, on via Dismano and on the Classicana (state road 67).

Lido di Dante can be reached from Lido Adriano, via the Bailey bridge, or from the Classicana (state road 67). Those who need to reach Lido di Classe and Lido di Savio are advised to leave in the very early hours of the morning, or in the afternoon. After the Classicana junction, the state road 16 Adriatica will be closed until Cervia; traffic will then be diverted onto the E45; the re-entry onto the state road 16 will take place via the provincial road 254.
