«The Tarasconi council once again manages a sporting event in an amateurish and disrespectful way: just 4 days away from the cycling event “Pedaling with Giancarlo Perini – Waiting for the Tour de France”scheduled for Sunday 30 June with departure from Piacenza, has communicated to the organizers that, on that day, it will not be possible to carry out the event for “safety reasons” not better specified». Luca Zandonella (Lega) and Sara Soresi (Brothers of Italy) they attack the Administration for the failure to compete in the event with the former cyclist from Piacenza Perini.
«It seems that, when asked for more details, no further explanations were even provided but simply the possibility of bringing the event forward by one day was put forward, a hypothesis that was clearly not viable as the organization was already complete for Sunday, including the expected arrival of athletes – also coming from outside Piacenza – who booked precisely on the basis of the information previously received and for whom it is now difficult to reorganise”.
«Not to mention – continue Zandonella and Soresi – that many participants manage or in any case provide activities in commercial establishments which they certainly cannot afford to neglect on Saturday. It seems, therefore, that unfortunately there are no alternatives to canceling the event; which reminds us, bitterly, of what happened not even a year ago during the handbike stage.”
«In fact, it seems that if the event were to be rescheduled in the future, the city of Piacenza would not be considered (presumably due to the behavior of the mayor and sports councillor). We will shortly file – this is the announcement of the two centre-right councilors – a question to find out the real reasons for the Administration’s choice, but unfortunately the damage has already been done: Piacenza, led by the Tarasconi Council, once again demonstrates that it does not respect the event organizers, their time, their passion as well as their economic commitment”.
