The wealthiest is a lawyer, the lowest earning is a partner in a construction company. The website of the municipality of Modica reveals the 2023 tax returns of the councilors of Palazzo San Domenico, established after the last elections, one year ago. This is the data contained in the 730 and Unico models presented last year, now visible to citizens.
But not all of them comply with the rules on transparency, probably due to errors on the part of the offices. One of the profiles is inaccessible, another has the 2018 declaration attached, two others have not yet filed their respective declarations.
Borrometi the “richest”, Spadaro the “poorest”
Fabio Borrometi is the councilor who presented a complaint with the highest income among his colleagues. In the 2022 tax year he declared a taxable amount (income net of tax deductions) of over 90 thousand euros. Sixty-one years old in September, lawyer, Borrometi, leader of the majority list “Modica al centro”, also declares ownership of a property.
In second place is Michelangelo Aurnia, from “Prendiamoci cura”, with just over 81 thousand euros of taxable income. Aurnia, accountant and auditor, also declares that he has 33.33% of the company “Aurnia Costruzioni” in liquidation.
Daniele Scapellato, representative of the “We are Modica” list, recorded a taxable income of just over 49 thousand euros and the ownership of a building.
Lorenzo Giannone, DC, recorded a taxable income of almost 38 thousand euros in 2022, together with a building.
Giorgio Civello, still from the DC, in addition to around 35 thousand euros of taxable income, is the owner of a property and half of a piece of land, also in Modica.
Party colleague Rita Floridia has a taxable income of 34,581,000 euros and ownership of a house, a building, another at 33.33% and bare ownership of a property at 12.50%.
Another DC councilor, Piero Covato, declared 34 thousand euros of income net of taxes, together with two properties and two plots of land, most of which are located in the Ragusa area.
Still in DC, Giuseppe Massimo Caruso, in addition to the house with garage, declared 31,406,000 euros of taxable income.
Giovanni Spadaro, Pd, had a net income of almost 29 thousand euros, plus a building and an apartment at 50%.
Speaking of real estate. In a summary statement, councilor Ivana Castello declares more than anyone else: 4 properties and two lands in Giarratana, two in Modica. The largest of the properties is 85 square meters. Castello, candidate for mayor, is the one who spent more than her colleagues in the electoral campaign: almost 8 thousand euros out of her own pocket, in addition to the 982 euros contributed by the Pd and M5S. However, in her profile hosted on the website of the municipality of Modica, the tax return is not attached.
Ippolito Alessio Ruffino, DC, had an income of just over 26 thousand euros, plus the ownership of a building.
Salvatore Gugliotta (Mayor’s Castle): taxable amount of €22,467,000 and a building.
Cristina Cecere (Let’s take care of ourselves): taxable amount of €19,854.00, a building and a garage in Modica.
The president of the municipal council, Mariacristina Minardo, recorded a total income of €17,230.00. You own three properties: land and two buildings, one of which is 50% owned in Marzamemi.
Miriam Franzò (Let’s take care of ourselves): taxable amount of 12,685.00 euros.
Pietro Armenia (Modica in the center): 11,527.00 euros of taxable income and a co-owned building.
Leandro Giurdanella (Let’s take care of ourselves): taxable amount of around 11 thousand euros.
Gianmarco Covato (We are Modica): net income of 5,598.00 euros.
Elena Frasca (We are Modica): total income of 5,585.00 and a home.
Finally Daniela Spadaro (Modica in the centre): taxable income of only 2,428.00 euros, two owned buildings and 50% of the “Beneventano” construction company.
On the profiles of Neva Guccione and Margherita Cascino, both ofprendiamoci cura, there is no attachment with the respective tax return.
