Lamezia Terme – The basic level SAF training course for 22 students of the 97th Fire Brigade Student Training Course from Calabria and Basilicata ended on Friday 21 June at the Multifunctional Fire Brigade Center of Calabria located in Lamezia Terme.
“The basic level Alpine River Speleo module constitutes one of the most important pieces of basic training for all fire brigade operators – we read in a note – During the training period the students learn the techniques for moving on ropes, the use of knots, as well as knowledge of “Alpine Fluvial Speleo” rescue equipment and the combination of rope techniques for recovery in impervious, confined and industrial environments (with toboggan stretcher) and medical first aid. During the weeks of the course, theoretical and practical training modules alternated in the classroom, the latter carried out both at the maneuvering station in the teaching center and in an impervious environment in the province. The training activities carried out have the aim of increasing the safety level of the rescuers and improving the service offered to the population, in particular in those situations in which, due to the specific urban and extra-urban accident scenario, normal means of transport cannot be used. equipment”.
