Grottaglie exploits the multiplier effect of the G7

There has been a lot of talk about the multiplier effect of the G7 for Puglia and especially for Apulian tourism (estimated turnover of over 220 million euros and a projected increase in international bookings in the next 5 years of up to 30-40% more ). Grottaglie will certainly also benefit from this effect, which, thanks to its renowned ceramics, has ended up in the national and international mass media. The video of the visit, defined as memorable, of the delegation of around 50 guests (wives and husbands of the so-called Great, indeed Powerful, of the world), ended for example on the home page of the corrieredellasera website. This represented an enormously effective territorial marketing tool, more than any other used so far by the local administrators of the city of Ceramics.

In short, Grottaglie, albeit for a few hours, enjoyed an international showcase like never before, furthermore embellished by the presence on the top tables in the luxurious Borgo Egnazia resort of ceramic place cards depicting little horses made right in Grottaglie, or the pumi that adorned the convivial tables or the beautiful female figures positioned in the background of the summit, all made in Grottaglie.

Without forgetting that at the ‘Arlotta’ airport it was a point of reference for the French, Japanese and German delegations.

One week after that historic day, the hope is that this opportunity, unique in terms of image, will be seized by local administrators, who are called, at this point, to invest even more in the hospitality sector, to organize attractive events not only in the summer period (given the mild climate it would be appropriate, for example, to deseasonalize the use of a suggestive location such as the Fantiano Caves), to focus more on the development of commerce in the historic center where, for example, there is a lack of souvenir shops. Get out of provincialism and broaden your horizons, focusing heavily on tourism, perhaps taking inspiration from nearby Ostuni.
