Ten minutes of “hell”. The storm that hit Milan and its hinterland on Friday evening around 7.40pm left a trail of damage and inconvenience in its wake. At around 11pm, the firefighters still had around 40 interventions to deal with, all involving unsafe trees. The most complicated intervention, as the command in Via Messina announced, involved a tree of around 20 meters which fell near the Monumental cemetery and severed tram lines 12 and 14. The tree, in addition to occupying a large part of the roadway , also fell in the internal courtyard of a restaurant and only by chance did it not hit some customers who were there at the time.
